Dear Rosaria, and Abuelo Lucas,
Re: Frederico Hayce coming to Bolivia, why...?
I wanted you two to understand what I'm about, and why I have cycled around the world, most recently (2010-2012), from Tibet, to be in Tiawanaku, for 122112.
I have been on a spiritual pilgrimage, the culmination of, explained in a book titled, "The Serpent of Light" by Drunvalo Melchizedek, Sedona, Arizona, USA (where Abuelo Lucas once visited). I was introduced to this book by, Robert Vogel, a U.S. citizen who lives in Chile. I'll see if I can get the book in Spanish (for you to read).
Meanwhile, what follows is an attempt to try to explain ... But this explanation includes some Eastern spiritual terms that may or may not be familiar with, for example, the "Kundalini", described here:
The word Kundalini is derived from a Sanskrit word ‘Kundal’ meaning coiled up. It is the primordial dormant energy present in three-and-a-half, coils at the base of the spine in a triangular bone called the Sacrum. The Latin name ‘Os Sacrum’ suggests that it is a holy or sacred part of the body. The ancient Greeks were aware of this and therefore they called it the ‘Hieron Osteon’, noting that it was the last bone to be destroyed when the body is burnt, and also attributed supernatural powers to it. Egyptians also held this bone to be very valuable and considered it the seat of special power. In the West, Sacrum is symbolised by the sign of Aquarius and by the Holy Grail, container of the water of life. The Kundalini, which is to nourish the tree of life within us, is coiled up like a serpent and therefore it has been called, ‘The Serpent Power’. It has been described in great detail in the Upanishads. Kundalini Yoga is supposed to be supreme in all the Yogas. Guru Vashistha asserted that Kundalini is the seat of absolute knowledge. The awareness of the presence of this primordial energy Kundalini within the human body was considered by the sages and saints to be the highest knowledge. The Kundalini and Chakras have been vividly described in Vedic and Tantric texts.
Note, the Kundalini, in Taoism is "jing", and "the" dantien "chi" (energy).
There are other terms, and if you're not sure what they mean, we can discuss. I always learn something new in the discussion of a topic, I'm supposed to be expert. Trust me, there are no experts, only fools!
Over the last thousands of years, the Kundalini ('Serpent of Light') has resided in Tibet, China. Thus, Tibet has been one of the more important spiritual places, a spiritual world unto itself. Note, the Hindu / Buddhist / Bon people have been circumambulating ('Kora') Mt. Kailas for thousands of years. However, the Chinese government is in the process of destroying that spirituality (anti Tibetan Buddhism, the Dalai Lama, etc..) In fact, they already have destroyed it! Dams for electricity, more important to them.
The first 'cycle' of my spiritual journey began in Colorado, USA, in 2004. I cycled down to a mountain in Southeastern Colorado, named, Sissnanjini, in the Denay language, 'Blanca Peak' in English (Spanish). This had to do with making an offering and receiving, at the same time, an object (the Heart Stone)to take to Tibet. I didn't take this too seriously at first, but being open minded, I kept "listening." Then as things started happening to me, I was lead down a path all the way to Tiawanaku, Bolivia for 122112. It took seven years, five of these seven in China.
Part of my stay in China for five years had to do with: One, writing a book entitled, "Tantric Taoism," the other, the offering of the Heart Stone to Mt. Kailas. We managed to make this offering to Kailas ('Kang Ripoche), in September, 2010. Now, this cycling adventure (five months, five thousand miles) has been written about, and is a book (author, Wen Quan nee Liu). Mr. Liu was with us (traveling in the support vehicle) at least as far as Lhasa.
In Tibet, I received two more holy objects (stones). Again, the 'message' was: take them to South America. Again, I was not quite sure what this was all about. But, I was cycling around the world anyway, and going to South America had been planned.
In Santiago, Chile, 18 months later, I met a couple, Ann and Bob, this through a friend in the U.S. After explaining what I was about, my pilgrimage, etc., Bob suggested a book 'The Serpent of Light' (as mentioned in the beginning). I had this book sent me from the U.S. After reading it, I realized what I had been doing, and was supposed to be doing, and why! (Thanks, Drunvalo!).
I knew too, that Sagittarius, my birth sign (in Western Astrology), had evolved into Ophiuchus, 'the Serpent Bearer' (all of these 'coincidences,' over seven years time, is what finally convinced me). But, I did not know exactly where to go, where to take and make the offering. In Drunvalo's book, he is not specific, mentioning only Chile, Peru and Bolivia. The first location I had it in mind, to make the offering, was Machu Picchu, Peru. But, that was not to be.
Cycling up from Santiago, I ended up camping in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile for two months (dry and sunny). There, I met a Chilean man who gave me the place to make the offering, Tiawanaku, Bolivia. I had never heard of Tiawanaku, Bolivia before. However, I suddenly realized that this was the place! He had explained that there was a temple in Tiawanaku dedicated to three Aymara icons: the Jaguar, the Condor and the Serpent. Well, guess what? There is no Serpent in Aymara mythology! He was prescient… We were bringing it, the "Serpent of Light" (the Kundalini).. Additionally, I had done some research, and I discovered that the ancient Aymarans described Tiawanaku, as '…the 'Stone in the Center' (of the Universe). Once I read that, I knew Tiawanaku was the auspicious place for the offering.
I met my business partner German Rotraut Boyens (known as Rucha) in Lima, and we cycled and/or drove all the way to Desahuadero, Peru, a trip of some 2,000KM. It was an arduous journey for Rucha and I (both over 70-years of age).
We almost lost Rucha to an asthma attack in Lima, I could not cycle much of the Andes, as too difficult or dangerous, or both. We suffered from the high elevation (Tichio Pass, 4,800 meters. ASL). Rucha could not breathe, and/or sleep at night, and sometimes the same for me as well. But I know one thing for sure… You can not get to 'Heaven', without having to first to pass through 'Hell' (in Christian terms). But we have a slogan in our world cycling group that has always sustained us: WE LET NOTHING STOP US! And nothing did!
And so we offered the "Serpent of Light" (a stone; pictures at www.cyclingpeace.org/Gallery/) in an Aymara Ceremony / Tiawanaku (the site of ancient offerings / ceremonies), December 21, 2012. Thank you, Abuelo Lucas and Rosaria! We humbled ourselves before Viracocha (Aymara God of Gods), 'Lord of Action, and shaper of worlds,' as we gave the 'Serpent of Light,' the Kundalini up to its new 'home!' Again, pictures of the ceremony at www.cyclingpeace.org/gallery/
Much has been made of the date 122112, the end of the Maya Calendar. It is an auspicious date for sure, but not the end of the world. In fact, quite the contrary, the beginning of a new and better world, the 'Age of Kalki:' more feminine, more positive, with more sharing, caring, and loving (the universal kind)! But, the date, 122112, is just the beginning… No big explosions, no near misses by an asteroid, no 'Second Coming,' Rapture, or other momentous event. No Hollywood movie either! Only, 'Spring in the air!'
On the other hand, the spiritual prosperity of Bolivia is about to rise, the country set to become a beautiful 'garden,' full of budding flowers. Those of us who are here now and understand, our task is to cultivate these 'flowers.' This is why I need to stay in Bolivia for a time, maybe two years or so, and without having to depart (to extend my visa). I'm 73-years of age!
People all over the world are going to start making pilgrimages to Tiawanaku. They will also visit La Paz, and other cities, etc., adding to the prosperity of the tourism industry. The Government needs to plan ahead and be prepared for this increase in the number of tourists.
South America is on the edge (the cusp) of growing importance in the world. There needs to be greater unity among all countries.
South American nations are too sovereign, are too separated, are too antagonistic to each other. We need them to get closer together instead of having so many internecine disputes!
I was surprised to discover, cycling up from Santiago, Chile, (to Bolivia) that the mobile telephone numbers are not very easily transferred from country to country. We found that we could not take our rental vehicle from Peru into Bolivia. All these political boundaries, restrict trade, and the sharing of resources. There is strength in numbers! For example, the Falkland Islands dispute between Argentina and the U.K…. The UK is not afraid of 'little' Argentina, but they might be of, all of South America (united)! 'SurAm,' let's call it!
When I started this journey, this Pilgrimage, in January 2005, a friend took me to the bus terminal in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. Her name is Phyllis Rock. Her parting words to me was a profound blessing, one I really did not understand when she first said it. But now understanding, as she blessed me, I bless you and yours:
THE LIGHT IS WITH YOU, THE LIGHT IT IS WITHIN YOU! (sayeth 'The Rock' )
And so be it! Let's do this as well, a way of uniting people: HANDS ACROSS SOUTH AMERICA first, then HANDS ACROSS THE WORLD!
